Secrets to Weight
loss
Exercise & Hobbies
Yes you need to
look into this with an open mind – straight talking here, - even small
amounts are better than nothing. - If you hate it, then find
something you do like, as long as it gets you up and moving about a
bit its better than sitting creating more body fat if you have eaten
more food than your body will use.
Just a short walk
about will make you feel better, take in more oxygen to your cells,
and you might even enjoy it! – try walking upstairs instead of taking
the lift or to the post box to send that letter instead of taking the
car, washing the windows, washing the car. Look for creative ways to
build more exercise into your day and the pounds will drop off quicker
than if you hadn’t.
Look through your
local newspaper for activities that you might enjoy, dancing, local
sports centre activities, or even joining a group non-exercise related
at a night school, or college will get you out of the house and give
you an interest that is non food related. The less time spent eating
or thinking of food = more time to burn it off.
And now for the
really big secret – your body continues to burn more fat even
after you have ceased exercise for that day – yes, if
you exercise, it really does speed up your quick weight loss as your
body becomes more efficient and the fat burning process continues.
There are more countless benefits too, such as you will sleep better.
Activities /
Calories Burned / Metabolism
Simple truth is
that each pound of body fat contains 3500 calories, – yes it really is
that simple - this means that to loose 10lb you must create a deficit
of 35,000 calories to make your body lose that fat.
Your body weight,
fat to muscle ratio, and exercise intensity will determine the exact
number of calories that you have used during your workout. It is best
not to get hung up on these tables in the early days of your quick
weight loss, but they can be useful when you are wanting to progress
to the next fitness level. Watch this space for future tables that
will also include household chores!
Food Diaries
Another golden
rule in your quest for quick weight loss is keeping a food diary.
Even if you only do it in the first week or two, it will pay
dividends. Treat yourself to a nice new diary or notebook, big enough
for you to list EVERYTHING that you put into your stomach. Make sure
you keep it and a pen together and carry it with you. Update it
throughout the day and you will easily see the benefits of doing this:
-
You will be able
to see at a glance your daily / weekly intake.
-
You can
calculate the calories you have eaten if you wish.
-
Note in it your
exercise and you can work out the energy expended.
-
When you have a
good week, you can look back on it and see how you ate.
-
Note things like
your mood, events and you will see how these too, affect your eating
habits.
